Meet Your Coaches
Keith Gilmore
Raised on a farm in rural Massachusetts, Keith has taught university courses, completed a ceremonial Vision Quest, and founded multiple businesses. Over a 15+ year career as a college instructor, private tutor, and life coach, he’s helped hundreds of people transcend their self imposed and external limitations to radically improve their lives.
On top of his extensive life coaching training and experience, he has logged over 200 hours on the suicide crisis line and is ASIST certified in suicide first aid. Volunteering weekly at the suicide hotline developed in Keith a resonant compassion for those in their darkest hours of despair and a gentle yet profound touch for helping guide people who are suffering back home to themselves.
Keith has been leading men's groups for over 5 years, helping to guide men of a wide range of ages and backgrounds to a life of greater balance. Over the years he has delved into studying archetypal masculinity and rites of passage. In 2022 he participated in his own Vision Quest where he spent three days of ritual observance alone in the mountains while fasting from food and water.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Writing. In addition to his formal education, Keith is an autodidact self-schooled in several disciplines and is a student of Jungian psychology and various spiritual wisdom traditions.
Keith spends his time bicycling, gardening, reading, writing, training muay thai, practicing yoga, and playing chess. He values above all else wisdom, determination, openness, uncompromising honesty, and the exploration of varying perspectives in opposition to dogmatic thinking. He writes essays and gives public talks on psychology, philosophy, spirituality, culture, and psychedelics.
Under Keith’s mentorship, hundreds of individuals have been successful in blossoming their highest selves while attaining clarity of vision and connection with a deeply purposeful life.
Max Kelemen
Shaped and inspired by the mountain forests, winding rivers, and vast deserts of the American Southwest, Max has cultivated a spirit of playfulness and creativity deeply rooted in the connection with nature. A self identified “jack of all trades,” Max has developed an eclectic offering of skills and knowledge that encourage curiosity, self-inquiry, and the connectedness of all things.
Max’s professional foundation is rooted in the non-profit/civil society sector with a lens towards greater social justice. Trained in leadership, ethics, and facilitation with a Master’s in Public Administration, he is a proponent of experiential learning through group dynamics and outdoor adventures. He has worked as a guide, facilitator, and administrator for organizations like the Northwest Outward Bound School, SOS Outreach, and New Vision Wilderness. Through these roles, he has developed a skill set that weaves together a unique offering of mind-body-spirit practices that empowers individuals and groups to cultivate greater awareness, resilience, and compassion in their lives.
Max holds the belief that the healing power and supportive role that community plays in our contemporary society is understated. Inspired by ancient philosophies and indigenous wisdom from across Earth, he continues to learn and seek ways we can revive and integrate these principles into modern times. Wherever he has lived, he has sought to connect with communities that align with his values and interests, volunteering for organizations that provide access to nature for underserved youth, hunger & nutrition, and quality education.
In recent years, Max has become more outspoken and involved with the re-emerging psychedelic movement. He is an advocate for wider acceptance, support, and policy reform to provide safe guidance with these medicines within our communities. He has previously served on the board of directors, in the president role, for the Portland Psychedelic Society and continues to be an ally and volunteer for this community.
Always with an open, curious, and playful heart, Max is currently working on a 300-hour yoga teacher training that integrates other forms of body movement and somatic experiencing. He is a certified whitewater raft and wilderness guide. A seeker of “flow”, he also snowboards, slackline/highlines, juggles, and spins fire. You can catch him running around the PNW playing, dancing, laughing, and gallivanting in nature.
Through group facilitation and 1-on-1 work, Max’s purpose is to use his playfulness and creativity to inspire and guide others to freely express themselves toward greater self-actualization that lovingly cultivates abundance and harmony through nature and community.
